The Coronation of Harper!

Mark my words folks. If Ignatieff is stupid enough to force an election when 75% of Canadians (including Liberals like me), DO NOT want one, he will be handing a majority government to the Conservatives on a silver platter. I guarantee it. I put my stamp on it. Remember you heard it from me.

Soft Liberals like me will be voting for Mr. Harper despite of ideological differences. Believe me when I say this. There are large numbers of miffed Liberals, who do not like Mr. Ignatieff since he went to bed with the Bloc and the NDP last time. I am sure you all remember the “coalition government” or the “coalition of whores” as I prefer to call it. Ignatieff was willing to sell his party and its principles to the Bloc just to take power. He was willing to highjack the democratically elected government just to satisfy his “hunger” for power. He was willing to engage in a political threesome with the Bloc and the NDP in order to realize his own political ambitions. Mr. Ignatieff- make no mistake sir. When you sleep with the enemy you parent the outcome. When you hang out with manure you start smelling like manure. I knew back then you had no respect for this country’s principles. I knew back then you lacked integrity of character. And sir, I knew back then you would prove me right. You did!

Mr. Harper and his Conservatives, though not my favourite politician nor political party, DID win the majority of the vote - (37.6%) vs. (26%) for the Liberals and (18%) of the NDP.
They (Conservatives) won the majority of seats (143) vs. (77) for the Liberals, though not a majority government. Based on that fact alone, Mr. Harper earned his constitutional right to govern. Unless he does something unethical, something criminal or something to the detriment of the country, he should be allowed to serve his term. The political bullshit the other parties are propagating right now, does NOT sit well with me or the majority of Canadians.

This is the wrong time to throw the Country into a national election. It would be a waste of taxpayer’s money and the instigators of such a moronic move will face the wrath of the electorate. They will pay a grave political price. I, amongst others, would not vote for Mr. Ignatieff at the best of times, let alone, at times of economic upheaval. As I said, he lacks integrity of character and sincerity of intend.

I ask you my friends, how can someone who left this country in 1978 to pursue his own interests abroad - (England and U.S.A), can come back in 2005 – almost three decades later and feel entitled to hold the reins of the Canadian government?
Would you trust such an individual? Would you vote for such an individual? Would you want such an individual to represent YOU and your Country on the global stage? I for one would NOT.

From the Beer Hall,
This is Joe “six-pack”, and this is my perspective.

I don't think the Liberals have the balls to call an election. If all the economic indicators are correct and our economy is headed for growth, guess who takes credit for it. The Liberals. Not!!!!!
Let's face it. Mr. Harper has been praised domestically and internationally for "staying the course" during this financial mess and it would be very hard for the Liberals or the NDP to counter that. The author is right. Calling an election now would be stupid. Of course the Bloc is another story. But then again, it is the Bloc. Who listens to the Bloc eh?

Yes yes, I am another unhappy Liberal and I am voting like you Joe. I threw away my membership card. What Ray and Ignatieff did last time ended for me. I am willing to bet my last dollar there are more x-liberals like us out there.

Keep hammering the betrayal.

Joe I don't trust the bastard as far as I can throw him. One look in his eyes and you can tell the only thing he cares about is the prestige of becoming the PM of Canada. Screw him. You watch how many seats he is going to lose in Quebec.

Ignatieff may as well sign the death certificate of the Liberal Party.

I agree with you Joe. Cheers!

Well said. Ignatieff's appetite for power will eventually cause him perpetual diarrhea.
