Another Canadian soldier killed another day of reflection

Prime Minister Harper Can You Tell Me Please…

Why are we in Afghanistan? Who are we helping? Who are we fighting? What are we accomplishing? Our American friends don't really need our military help and the Pakistanis and Afghans don't deserve to have our help. It's time to bring our troops home. Yes Prime Minister, bring our troops home. The Americans have a reason to be there. They have a score to settle. We don't. We are sacrificing our youth, fighting someone else's war and defending someone else's country. We are pouring billions of dollars to civilize a culture which does not want to be civilized. They do not want to make the leap into the 21st century. They are forbidden by their religion and culture. They are happier to live in the middle ages and remain in a cultural state of inertia. They don't want to move forward with the rest of humanity. Let them be. We are giving billions to the governments of these countries and what do they do? They enact laws to oppress and abuse women as if women are not human beings. They follow a form of Islam which serves well the interests of their male population while abusing and oppressing the female population. If The Holy prophet Muhammad was still around HE would have raised his armies and totally annihilate the entire tribe of the Taliban and their allies. They are still tribal after thousands of years because they are content with their existence as is and we have no right to intervene. So let's leave these people alone in their own country, to take care of their own business, in their own way. Whether we agree with their cultural, religious and social values is totally IRRELEVANT. Bring our troops home and leave these people alone. Eventually human nature takes its course. If it is meant for these people to move into the 21st century time zone they will. If not, they will continue to kill each other until there is no one to kill. History teaches us of other tribal nations which have disappeared from the face of the earth the same way. Eventually if you don't adapt you self destruct. It's the law of nature. We should not be losing our soldiers trying to save a people who do not want to be saved. We should not be designing our foreign policies based on how we think a people should live and behave and what values they should have. Nor should we be losing our soldiers looking for some religious fanatic hiding in the caves of Afghanistan, who may or may not be alive. If the Afghans want change they can bring it about themselves.

I call it evolution through revolution. Rise up and take control of your kismet. I am willing to bet that if all foreign troops left Afghanistan, eventually there will be a power struggle between the Afghan tribes and Al -Qaeda. It's the nature of the beast. Afghans are of Indo-European stock (believe it or not) Al-Qaeda are Arabs. Oil and water don't mix. Bring our troops home and sit back and watch the fireworks!

(STANDING OVATION)

Excellent sentiment and well written!!

We should bring our soldiers home and invest the time, effort and finances into the development of our own country and citizens.

It is not the role of western civlized nations to "fix" the wrongs perceived in the remaining nations of the world.

In order for the cultural, social and political climate of a society to change revolution must occur within that society by indivduals who share an interest to progress.

Change cannot be imposed from third parties that exit outside of a society. Change must be pursued from within.

I still think we should let them kill each other just like the author said.

Bring them home. We should have never gone there in the first place.
